I received the Lancôme Le 8 Hypnose Serum-Infused Mascara for free from Influenster and Lancôme in exchange for my honest review. This mascara retails for $33 and comes in Black plus 3 color undertones. I received one of the color options: 04 Noir Malachite, which is an emerald green shade. I believe the other options are Noir Sapphire (blue black) and Noir Granat (amethyst black) for blue or green eyes, while the Malachite (green black) shade is for dark eyes. This mascara promises to add volume and revitalize your lashes. It contains 91% Black Balm, 8 Revitalizing Amino Acids and Shea Butter. It comes in a luxurious looking heavy plastic tube - it almost looks like glass, and has a dual sided brush in the shape of an “8” with fibers made from a renewable resource. One side is shaped to help build up volume, and the other flatter side helps to lift and sculpt. I like how the color is actually more subtle when applied. While it looks green on the brush, it looks like regular black mascara. In direct sunlight you can see a hint of green that compliments my brown eyes. This isn’t like colored mascaras back in the 80’s! I normally apply one layer for a natural look, although I did apply 2 layers as well and didn’t notice any clumping. Lashes look full and lasted all day with no flaking. However, if you want to apply more product, it might flake off. I did try it a couple of times with 3-4 coats and there was a little flaking after a few hours wear. It was easy to remove at night with my normal eye makeup remover. I wear contacts and had no issues. I would consider purchasing the one in black but only if there was a waterproof version and if it doesn’t flake when you apply multiple coats of mascara.
