Vitamin C Anti-Dark Spots & Brightening Serum

product review positives
[Reviewing for you: Garnier Vitamin C Glow Booster Serum] [UPDATED 230926] This 3.5% vitamin c serum with salicylic acid and niacinamide promises to fade dark spots as well as improving overall skin tone. 🫧it’s a milky white serum with a slight citrusy scent ✨contains 3.5% derived vitamin c ≫ Derivatives of vitamin C are known as inactive forms, or esterified forms. These require conversion in our skin to ascorbic acid and get activated once applied onto the skin. They also tend to penetrate the skin better and are more stable than pure Ascorbic Acid. 🫧skin feels smoother and the “lighter” dark spots seem to fade when used constantly for 1 month (consider I use other products to help in that matter) ✨glowy skin throughout the day without leaving grease, but a slight sticky finish until fully absorbed 🫧includes niacinamide which complements the effectiveness of stable vitamin c, still might be an irritant ✨salicylic acid which can be used with lower percentages of stable vitamin c, considering it as a potential irritant Application: Using 2-3 drops to cover my whole face, tapping it slightly into skin it feels sticky and rather heavy at the beginning but proceeds to absorb more seamless, leaving a glow behind. Personally I was impressed by how well it worked even though it has a lower percentage of vitamin c than I am used to. Used it as recommended as a day time product before applying my sunscreen, creating a powerful duo. First of all I was pretty skeptical about the included salicylic acid but after patch testing, I used it as a spot treatment on my dark spots. Noticed a slight fade. The product did not dry out my skin or caused any redness or irritation so far. After using it as a spot treatment only, I proceed to apply it on my whole face. It left a somewhat sticky feeling, taking some more minutes to fully absorb while patting it into skin. Once the product absorbs it makes skin definitely more radiant/bright. Used it for about a month and could see some positive changes which include: • dark spots got lighter • brighter skin • less breakouts which can be linked to the niacinamide and salicylic acid mix Overall I am pretty satisfied but honestly not my go to product. [Update #1] After using it now for over a month, I could see some dark spots disappear slowly! Only one stubborn is left!
product review negatives
📍i am somehow not a fan of the mix of salicylic acid/niacinamide/vitamin c 📍the glass bottle is clear, which can affect the vitamin c faster 📍leaves a somewhat of heavy feeling on the skin when absorbed 📍has not changed anything drastically
