A surprising new favorite sunscreen I found in the pharmacie in Paris.
The Isdin Fotoultra Age Repair Fusion Water SPF 50 has found a spot in my morning skincare routine since the beginning of October. It's described by Isdin as the following:
"Triple antiphotoaging action water-phased facial sunscreen that offers a fresh and a rapid absorption texture for daily use. High protection that helps prevent sun damage and protects the skin from urban polution, promotes the repair of the accumulated sun damage at cellular level and reverts the visible signs of skin aging.
Non comedogenic. Oil-free. Hipoallergenic, formulated to minimize the risk of allergy."
This is a European formula, meaning it has SPF filters not-yet-approved by the US, thus making it very hard to acquire if you live here. I bought a few bottles while in Paris for around 20 Euro each. Ordering online in the US can cost up to $80 per bottle, which is insane to me. I would never spend that on a sunscreen when there are amazing Korean sunscreens for a fraction of the price.
I will enjoy it while I have it of course. I'm really sad that it's so expensive to have it delivered here because I really love it.
It's such a lightweight and watery texture that feels hydrating and comfortable on my reactive, rosacea and oily/ acne-prone skin. I could see it being a little too moisturizing for my skin in the summer but it is a perfect and comfortable finish during the cooler and dryer months. It does have a slight "grippy" feeling once it's applied which I personally don't mind. It tends to be a common feeling with French sunscreen in particular (the Euro- only La Roche Posay UVMUNE400 comes to mind, but this feels much lighter on the skin.)
The one thing I didn't check when I purchased it (the store was a madhouse, and I was feeling overwhelmed so I didn't thoroughly read ingredients lists) was the fragrance. It does contain a floral fragrance that I would describe as being medium strength, so it could definitely be too much for some people. I like it and it doesn't irritate my skin at all thankfully.
Possibly the fragrance if you are sensitive to it, and it could cause some eye irritation. My eyes are sensitive and it doesn't bother me personally though!
