Real Fit Retinol Serum
SRP: US $29.00
Size: 20 mL/ 0.67 oz
Period After Opening: 3 months
• milky color and watery serum consistency
• lightweight; thin and watery when applied
• contains 0.5% retinyl palmitate (the weakest retinoid); this is a good starter retinoid serum for those who are new to retinoids
• has calendula extract, vitamin E, adenosine, glycerin, panthenol, and allantoin to help soothe and moisturize skin
• alcohol-free and fragrance-free
• gentle; I can use this with other active ingredients without irritating my skin
• did not cause purging
• doesn’t pill when used under other skincare products
• has a unique herbal scent that I have grown to like
• comes in an amber glass bottle which protects serum from light
• dropper works well with the watery consistency of this serum
This serum does not actually contain retinol despite the name, it contains retinyl palmitate, an ester of retinol and palmitic acid. It’s the weakest retinoid, one step down from retinol and three steps down from retinoic acid (or tretinoin). The conversion of retinyl palmitate to retinoic acid has weak evidences so a possibility exists that conversion is not effective. With that said, this will not give the same results as real retinol and will likely not do anything for those who are used to stronger retinoids. I use tretinoin and this did nothing special to my skin.
Still, retinyl palmitate is a type of retinoid and may cause purging on very sensitive skin or first time retinoid users.
It has a unique herbal scent that might be a turn off to some. It also has a short shelf life of three months after opening.

if you had read the front of the box, it say in two places the type of retinol. I don’t think it was worth making a big deal about it. you were so through on everything else in the product, white was helpful. I don’t know how you missed the type of Retinol.
