C.E.O 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum
This vitamin c serum also contains glycolic acid, and soybean combined with squalane to brighten and smooth the skin.
I had heard a lot of great things about this serum, but I tend to be sensitive to vit. C serums so I was a bit skeptical, especially since it also has glycolic acid. It comes in a very convenient pump bottle, and is a very light oil consistency that easily absorbs into the skin. I thought at first it had mica or something in it because it's kind of a pearlescent white, but it must be one of the extracts. It did however assure me that the quick effects I saw were not a simple matter of mica covering up flaws. It was truly brightening and has made a difference in my hyperpigmentation. Despite my worries it was not sensitizing and didn't cause a breakout, and although it did cause pilling with some products I realized all I needed was a pH buffer because it was a little too acidic. Once I started using a hydrating and balancing toner after this serum, the pilling problem quickly stopped.
Cost: $112 CAD per 30ml, $162 CAD per 50ml
Holy Hannah is it expensive. My little sample bottle lasted longer than I expected, but I will never be able to buy it myself.
It has a lot of sensitizing ingredients, including limonene and citrus peel extracts, which could be a problem for many people. Although the glycolic acid helps the form of vitamin c in the serum remain stable and penetrate the skin better, it may also be too sensitizing for some.
