Cica Spot Cream

product review positives
I received this product for free from Picky and Natural Derma Project in exchange for my honest review. I had really high hopes for this product as I received this during a time when I was struggling with really large, painful pimples. I don’t have many Korean spot creams and what I’ve been spot treating with is benzoyl peroxide, so I was interested in a healing alternative!  The ingredient list is full of soothing and repairing ingredients such as panthenol, squalane, madecassoside, and centella asiatica extract. If my acne was a result of a damaged skin barrier or skin irritation, I think the ingredients would be fantastic for soothing the affected areas. It definitely helps with reducing redness and has the potential to reduce blemishes as well. However, my acne is usually a result of stress, lifestyle choices, diet, hormonal imbalance, etc. and it takes more to reduce the pimple. If the spot cream included an active ingredient that actually kills acne causing bacteria, such as tea tree oil, along with repairing ingredients, then it would’ve worked well for me.  The packaging is very simplistic and chic and the applicator is my favorite! I have been loving when products have the plastic tip applicator so that you can squeeze out a very controlled amount of product. It contains 18 ml of product and if used frequently, you may run out of it pretty fast. I love dispensing the product directly only to the blemish, letting it sit for a second, and then blending it in. The texture is a bit balmy but it does not feel sticky at all. I enjoy that it has a thick texture because I can actually control where to apply the product. I own another spot treatment that comes in the form of a serum, and the really lightweight texture makes it difficult for a controlled application.  I think this is a great spot treatment for people looking to reduce redness and blemishes caused by skin irritation or a damaged skin barrier. For people dealing with hormonal acne or more serious acne, it’s better to look for spot treatments that can kill acne causing bacteria while simultaneously repairing the skin.  Star ingredients ⭐️panthenol ⭐️madecassoside

product review negatives
It just didn’t work well for me :( I would apply it onto active pimples and I wake up with the pimple looking the exact same. I prefer using this spot treatment when my barrier is damaged and I have new texture and pimples as a result.
