Rice Enzyme Brightening Cleansing Powder
I received this product for free from Picky and ANUA in exchange for my honest review.
I was so happy to finally have a cleanser from Anua that I enjoyed! Something that stood out to me is the fact that this is a fragrance free option. I’m someone with dry leaning skin and have had decent luck with powder based cleansers in the past. This one was great for me! I tried it both ways that the brand suggested: with water, and then using it with the toner from this same line and applying it as a rinse off mask. I enjoyed both versions, but probably enjoyed it mixed with the toner even more. I’m someone with dry leaning skin, and did not find that this cleanser left my skin feeling tight after use (which is an indicator that a cleanser is stripping your skin of too much moisture).
Key ingredients for hydration: glycerin, panthenol, and the rice water. However, it is also a chemical exfoliant thanks to the Lactic Acid, as well as a physical exfoliant. Often times powder cleaners are physical exfoliants but they are much more finely milled compared to physical scrubs that a lot of us are used to. This means that it is also ideal to help combat sebum product for people with oily leaning skin. Lastly it features a lot dose of asorbic acid, also known as vitamin C. Which is where it gets the ‘Brightening’ in its name. The vitamin C and lactic acid can help get rid of dull looking skin and offer a ‘brightening’ effect. I definitely was a big fan of this one!
I am taking one star off, because like every other cleansing powder that I’ve tried, it’s not meant to get into your eyes because it can irritate them. So I only apply around the orbital bone and everything is fine. But because I use makeup a lot, I prefer eye safe formulas. This is personal preference. But overall I will be adding this to my regular routine because I really loved this overall.
