Floodgate: Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Notable ingredients:
▫️4% Niacinamide
▫️2.1% Hyaluronic Acid
▫️1.6% Linden Flower Extract
▫️1.3% White Tea Leaf Extract
I am going to cut to the chase, I love this. It is a great hydrating and antioxidant rich product. Niacinamide is one of those things that does not really follow the higher-the-better notion. 1-5% is actually the range that's been studied to yield results--anything higher is just increasing the risk for irritation (I'm looking at you 20% niacinamide serums🥴). I appreciate that aside from the 4 ingredients above, there are only 8 other more in the formula including OG humectant glycerin.
I use this on a damp skin, immediately after cleasing to capitalize on the humectants. I top it off with the clean moisturizer from the same line (review will be up soon) to seal everything in.
As I used it everyday, I noticed that my skin has gotten less oily. The overall tone of my skin just look better in general. It is hydrating and does not disappear on my skin (although I have talked to someone who said that it dried her skin, but maybe it really boils down to how you apply it.)
Overall, this is one of the better niacinamide/HA serum formulations I've tried. I can see people with sensitive skin loving this, especially if they don't tolerate high percentages of niacinamide. It is also free of added fragrances and essentials oils.
I don't have anything bad to say.
