✨foundation review✨
*original formulation
This formula is amaaaazing!! My moisture barrier is much healthier than it was a week ago, it's back to feeling pretty soft from the perpetual flaking I was dealing with for about 4 months due to my actives (VT Reedle Shot 300/700 and Tretinoin).
But surface dryness is still an issue with my cushion foundations, so I wanted to try this formula despite all the silicones.
I'm hopeful that with the continual cell turnover, my skin will be okay with the dimethicone, but we'll see.
✨UPDATE: some flaky pieces popped up through the foundation after about 3-4 hours, which makes sense. I was talking a lot, touching my face, making lots of faces lol and it was a tiny dry patch.
I could have used tweezers to fluff off the skin and gone about my day. Nothing else on my face looked dry, but the makeup had faded and was breaking up a little bit on my nose. My dryness is dermatitis, but my skin type is still naturally oily.
✨This Radiant 330 Bamboo is just slightly more grey than the Self-Refreshing 330 Bamboo, both are the same depth of color.
250 Sand is overall too fair and yellow for me (going to give it to my sister).
The last shade I will try is 320 Pine in Shiseido's Revitalessence formula.
*Both the Radiant Lifting and Self-Refreshing foundations have gone through reformulations and are available outside of the US. I think they can be purchased on Harrods, Selfridges, or YesStyle, any international site and then shipped to the US.
⚠️This foundation is expensive and it is very silicone heavy, so it may cause closed comedones and breakouts in oily skin.
The Self-Refreshing foundation caused closed comedones in my skin when I tried it about 6 years ago. My skin can wear these foundations now because I keep it in constant cell turnover, so I very rarely have clogged pores. I do get acne, but that's from hormonal issues or topicals my skin doesn't like,
