It's a denser white cream and from the tube I was worried it might be way too heavy and leave a white cast or residue. Surprisingly,vthis actually applies very smoothly. Initally you can definitely feel it on your skin but after a few minutes it dries down and once it dries down it leaves no white cast and doesn't feel oily/sticky and has no noticeable residue. This also wasn't drying like some sunscreens can be and my skin still felt comfortable several hours after. When I reapplied, it didn't feel too heavy.
