Skin Protect Brightening Sunblock SPF80

product review positives
Something to know about me? I don’t like sunblock/sunscreen. It makes me feel greasy, its heavy, makes my face irritated and itchy. So I avoid it at all cost. The only thing my face can tolerate is Bioré (Watery Gel not the Essence). And with all the controversies about Korean sunscreens, I decided not to get on with that and try a new, local brand. ❗️I don’t know much about SPF and Chemicals regarding sunblock (too much information 🙃) except the basics. So I’ll go into this based on my knowledge and experience. ☀️Thoughts and Experience: Do I think the claims are too good to be true? YES. But I had to see for myself. Packaging is aesthetically pleasing (the cap can be twisted to lock) plus it is a local brand 🙌. It has a strong fragrance, yes its one of those sunblocks. The texture is creamy yet lightweight. It absorbs nicely and gives off a dewy look but it turns matte after a few minutes (thank God lol) My face is significantly brighter every time I use this (Niacinamide ftw!). I can layer makeup on top! Now the sun protection part, I’m not sure if SPF 80 is accurate but it is FDA Approved. Been using it for 3 weeks at home and on weekends (when I’m out the whole day, applied it every 2 hours just to be sure) I’m also currently using AHA/BHA at night. The result? No sun damage, no irritation, no itching, my skin felt fine and actually healthy lol. I did not have breakouts even though I use it almost everyday now.
product review negatives
The smell is really strong but thats common in sunblocks. I dont know it the SPF claims are 100% accurate but since it has no negative on my face and it gave me enough protection I guess its okay even if it does not meet the SPF 80. BUT brands are still responsible to meet their claims and not falsely advertise. I just hope the brand is more transparent and accountable on their product claims.
