Vitamin C Serum
Vitamin C. Pure Vitamin C aka Ascorbic Acid is a rockstar ingredient & in my opinion a must have in a skincare routine.
BUT Vitamin C can be a tricky bitch. It can be irritating as f***, it is quite unstable.
On the other hand it can change your skin drastically. It is a wonderful antioxidant, boost skins collagen production, helps with pigmentation, helps to boost your SPF.
That was the intro. Let's start the review of the @theinkeylist Vitamin C Serum.
This baby is strong, a real power girl or boy. It contains 30% pure Ascorbic Acid. It is essentialoil, fragrance & alcohol free, which I love.
It product is almost just Ascorbic Acid , other ingredients are Dimethicone (silicone, to give it a moth texture & forms a protective barrier), another silicone called Polysilicone-11 & who thought another silicone Peg-10 Dimethicone.
That's it. Pure Vitamin C & a bunch of Silicones. Why would you need it? Well since Vitamin C can be a little harsh the Silicones help to act as a barrier between the product & the skin.
The product gave me good results, it really helped to get rid of spots, but it is strong & it will be the best if you used a Vitamin C before. Like Retinol you can build your tolerance.
The product comes in a tube, which is the right packaging, since the product is a thick white cream. It is a Serum but it is more like a cream.
For me the texture is off, it is thick and somewhat grainy, if that makes sense. It feels like a light manual peeling & I really hate that feel.
On their website they suggested to mix it with an hyaluronic acid & this makes it so much better.
Even with good results, I really don't enjoy the experience & I will not repurchase it again.
