First of all, rosehip oil≠retinol. They differ greatly! They don't work the same, and they target on different concerns. Your purging process will not speed up with rosehip oil. It's fine if you're adding rosehip oil for the purposes of a little brightening and hydrating. You could use both retinol and rosehip oil, but there's really no reason for you to do that. Normally, people add a soothing serum/ moisturizer after retinol, to lighten the purging effects. You can also add a ceramide cream which can provide moisturization and skin barrier protection.

I’ve been using both the Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion and Rose Hip Seed Oil in my nightly routine for almost 2+ years now. I have dry, sensitive, redness-prone skin and this combo has done WONDERS for my skin. The emulsion itself is already pretty gentle for a retinoid. The rose hip seed oil is a fantastic product to use after the retinoid emulsion (I also follow up with a night time moisturizer). I’ve found that not only is it a wonderful protective barrier for your skin, but it has helped to drastically diminish some old dark spots left over from old breakouts (and doesn’t cause new ones!). I would say why not give combining the two a shot—both products are gentle and breakout-friendly. Definitely keep me updated on your skincare journey (and I hope this helped)! 🤗

I love TO'S Rosehip Oil...you could use both, but maybe add a few drops of the oil in with your cream to start. I love the Timeless Synthe 6 with my retinol routine. My flaking and irritation has completely subsided.
