Essence as toner?

I am curious, have any of you tried using a hydrating essence as a toner? I use both essences and toners mainly for hydration and calming. With modern day formulations I feel like the divide between the two is getting blurrier. I have an extra essence to spare that is mild and hydrating, do you think it would work as a toner? Have you tried it before? Tell me more about it if you have!

I mean, I have a toner essence and a toner serum in rotation currently and use them for where you normally use a toner. With my dry skin I’m really only looking for hydration so depending on skin type I’m sure it could work.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I find hydrating toners and essences are pretty interchangeable these days.

I guess it depends on the exact essence you have in mind but on the whole yes there’s no reason why you can’t use it that way.
