Retinol burn under eyes

To my fellow give away winners or others that used before I won this product and was really enjoying the texture and slight results I was able to see. After using it for three night, coming out the shower I realized my under eyes were slightly red and the skin around my eyes felt very very tight and dehydrated. I only used for three days, only at nights. For context I am able to use retinol every single night with no irritation. I’m even using the retinol serum from this line nightly. Before this, I was using BOJ Retinal eye serum ever night. I can’t find the percentages for this eye cream. How often do you think I should apply this cream, or how often do you personally apply it? Also what are good ways to revitalize my under eyes? Do you apply toner/serum all the way under the eye? Should I apply oils under to help? I also have this moisture repair balm - is it suitable for under the eye? So many questions so feel free to answer any or all parts ❤️

I had this happen to me from using this on my upper eyelids. my skin there could definitely not handle this. I woke up with red, puffy, and painful eyelids, even after patch testing. what I’m doing now is using sandwich method on my under eyes, since those seem to be becoming sensitive too. I use Benton eye cream then this then the Benton again, because this was also drying. I also will NOT be putting this on my eyelids anymore lol The next step would be to limit it, definitely. Let your skin heal, and once the barriers healed, you can integrate this slowly again. I think our mistake might be trying this daily. I hear the BoJ eye serum is very gentle, and retinal is less irritating than retinol, so that may be while you’re also more sensitive to this one. if after all the tweaking, our skin still doesn’t like this, then I’d go back to a cream that worked.

the retinol percentage is 0.1%. my skin got sensitive so I stopped using for a few days until the raw, sensitive feeling went away. maybe it's because this also has niacinamide in it that it's drying out our skin. I have been using the Heimish watermelon soothing gel cream and my skin is feeling better, as well as a hydrating eye cream too. I hope yours gets better. Stop using it as you're having a reaction to it. I hope that helps. ❤️

did you use other eye creams for few days after you stopped using this eye cream? I’m having the sane reaction too! I’ve just been using this for like 5-6 days so far.

If it's burns a bit it might be cause you have to use less than usual, even if it's a dot sized amount to get use to the product. I also won the giveaway but haven't used it yet as I want to wait a week from using my regular eye cream in case this problem happens to me. (I also suspect that I would still get some irritation as i'm new to retinol but I'd like to try once every other night to apply to see if it works for 1.5 to 2 weeks.)

i don’t have any reaction after using it for 2 days but I’m noticing my under eyes area feels so dry. I won’t use it everyday day. i will give a rest today and see how it goes. my friend also using this eye cream too and she also experiencing same. agreed with the fellow comments, try the sandwich method and if any reaction still happens you better stop using it.
