Fragrance and its significance.

Well I'm sure most of us love the soothing smell of flowers or fruits or even herbs. And 100% would agree they like smelling nice. [Long post warning] But fragrance itself is quite harmful for babies and there's a study that investigates the effect of prolong exposure to fragrances. I just can't fathom how skincare, even those needed to apply to sensitive places ,and even places further from our smell range needs to be fragranted ( if the word exist). Like why do you need eye cream or even lip products to have fragrance? It just adds a nasty note to the taste(lipbalm) and 99% of the time our nose or anybody else's noses would not be able to detect the smell(eye cream or mositurizer) Besides a possibility to be an irritant to sensitive skin, it is unacceptable for skincare to include these irritants unless they pose great benefits in them. Soothing is a feeling..but having a fragrant skin product just isn't it. Exclusion for products with natural smell due to using natural ingredients like mugwort or orange..but honestly cherry or strawberry doesn't smell that strong..peaches also don't smell that strong. Yes I get that sometimes it is added to even out some foul smelling smell from other ingredients..but is it worth it for the wellbeing of our skin and lungs and liver? What's your take on fragrances?
