If your skin feels okay I would try out one night retinol, one night BHA, one night nothing. Both those ingredients are high impact so it could give your skin time to rebuild and rest.
If at any point your skin feels irritated or sensitized I would stop the BHA right away, and space out the retinol a bit more. You actually don’t want to stop retinol because it works by stimulating collagen production and new cells, so it will actually make your skin thicker over time. If you slow down too much, it will actually just keep you in the irration phase longer.
BHA on the other hand doesn’t have the same cumulative effect so you can stop and go based on your skins needs. I hope this is helpful!

I'm using both the Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant as well as retinol on alternating nights. I suggest you alternate nights: one night using retinol and the next night, using BHA.
It sounds like your skin has acclimated to retinol and so if you're comfortable of increasing the days you're using retinol you can. Again, don't use BHA and retinol on the same nights. Your skin will have an adverse reaction and it can lead to irritation.

I think you can use the retinol from the ordinary 3-4 times a week as tolerated for one month and then start introducing the bha.

If I am not mistaken you can use them right after another BHA and the retinol. Paula choice is kinda forgiving since they can be used together according to their IG. Dm them there and they can guide you better
