I started using Differin, and if you use that, this seems to work just fine. Both made an amazing change in my skin. Less pimples / breakouts / blackheads.
It will dry you out!! Moisturize! Be prepared for a purge at first! It will get better.

The only downside is that as the weather has changed and it’s colder my skin is dryer and starting to peel off which means I need to apply more moisturizer to the dry areas and drink more water in order to keep using Adapalene every night.

This didn't irritate my skin at all. And this was my first time using a retinol. No itchiness, burning, acne.
Made my skin peel a little, wasn't drastic.

Works well- doesn’t have a purging period at least for me. I have oily t zone and normal/dry cheeks and its fine with a bit of moisturizer!
