Why my skin can't handle niacinamide?

My type of skin is oily and wide pores here and there, so I gues niacinamide is good in blurring pore and whatsoever...however my skin keep growing an acne and whitehead on forehead and cheek (it just a small acne back then but so bothering). So then I stop use it, my skin feel more lighter, and less acne. Issit really like not suit my skin like only my skin is the problematic one or it get shock by the niac? Help !

Some people just can’t handle niacinamide. While it’s usually a very friendly ingredient, it’s still an active, so there’s a chance it can cause irritation. Also, you can have sensitivity to pretty much every ingredient, not only the actives, and usually people find out they can’t tolerate something when they buy a product. Some ingredients just aren’t compatible with everyone, which is sad, but also completely normal😣 while it can be a concentration that’s not right for you, there are sometimes people that respond better to niacinamide in lower concentration, if it’s allergic or a sensitivity to niacinamide then there’s really nothing you can do and the only way is to stop using the sensitizing product😭

I know that 4 or 5% of niacinamide is enough to be effective maybe you can still try another one / or maybe it's just the niacinamide serum from a certain brand that your skin don't support, I know the one from the ordinary does not suits everyone's skin

Dr. Dray just put out a video of that today! I suggest you go check it out. I thought niacinamide wasn’t working well for me either - but it turns out it’s just in super high percentages that it doesn’t. I use niacinamide in both my cleanser and sunscreen and it works really well. Sometimes the other ingredients surrounding the product can be causing irritation as well.

If u are having a breakout and sensitive to niacinamide, maybe your skin barrier is broken. Basically niacinamide is a great ingredient for all skin problems, but yeah some people can't handle it, especially with higher concentration. I think you should consider to focus on repairing your skin barrier. A lot of people really enjoying the great barrier relief, maybe u should give it a chance šŸ˜‰ And oh, just be careful w all the products you're using. Usually almost all of the skincare products has niacinamide in it, which can irritating your skinā™„ļø
